  • Ceramic Art - Porcelain

Porcelain is one of the most beautiful and demanding materials to work with. Its purity and luminosity reveal a quiet elegance when handled with care. Through precision and control, I push it to its limits to create finely crafted pieces of exceptional delicacy — light, refined, and almost translucent.

  • Recycled Materials

Texture is created by dipping recycled materials into porcelain slip. Sewing thread, paper and other found materials leave fine impressions and layered surfaces, bringing subtle pattern, depth and a sense of transformation to the work.

  • Smoke Firing

I use a variety of organic and inorganic materials to create bold, expressive markings. Each piece is fired in my dog crate kiln, where heat and atmosphere produce unique and often unpredictable surface effects.

  • DIY Kiln!

All of my smoke fired porcelain and smoke fired jewellery is fired in a home made kiln that was made using a repurposed dog crate... yet another of my crazy ideas. More information on this, and other DIY studio projects can be found here...

  • Combustibles

I use a range of combustibles when firing both my porcelain pieces and pendants/brooches. Many combustibles are sourced on walks - leaves, flowers etc, whilst others are sourced from the staffroom at school (mainly banana skins and orange peels!!).

  • Where is my work made?

I am lucky enough to have a studio in the garden at home that we built using reclaimed wooden pallets. Read here to find out more about my background and journey into ceramics from the classroom.
